Do Your Best Mini House

Hello and good morning to all you crafters out there! I have a new fun creation to share today that I made for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts!

I haven't played with any of the mini houses lately so I grabbed one and put it together!

I paint the house with some Prima Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint and added some microbes in for textures.

The bird cage got some gesso and then some VerDay treatment. I painted the punch element with the Art Alchemy Paint as well and then stamped on the circle while it was wet.

Using some cardboard to add dimension and then a Tom Holtz sticker on top for a sentiment.

The mini houses are to die for! I just love these things. There are 4 sizes in the store so go run and check them out!

Embrace Imperfection

Hello lovelies!!!
I created a new art journal spread for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts!

How are you all today? Ready for a little art journal inspiration?  I was so inspired by a page that Athanasia created which you can check out HERE!

So I did a page with her work as my inspiration.

Okay so first you know everything gets a coat of gesso!

Then I layered up the background with some scraps of paper and covered it with more gesso. Then I went to town with some ColourArte Twinkling H20's. You can really see the shimmer.

Then I added some finger painted circles with ColourArte Silks Acrylic Glazes and then once dry went around them with some black acrylic paint. I also did some background stamping and splatter marks.

Once everything was dry I added my Yarrow chipboard to the page along with some Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers. I added some a a tea stained tea bag behind the words to give them a little extra pop.

Overall I just love how I incorporated the chipboard into my art journal page.
I hope you have found some inspiration here today and that you grab your chippies and have fun creating.

Product Used:

Silks Acrylic - Bayou Blue, African Jade, and Plumeria

Anything But Square

Hello to all you lovelies out there.
Today there is a new challenge over at The Inky Chicks challenge page.

This challenge we want to see you create anything NOT SQUARE!
So let's see you tags, or circles, or rectangles, or hexagons, and stars, etc.

I decided to have fun with a tag!

I colored up this Saturated Canary cutie and added some silver stickles to her jacket and hair tie.

She was colored with copics and paired with some Fancy Pants papers. I finished the tag off with this really cute felt flower a friend sent to me a while back as part of a goodie exchange. I just LOVE them and haven't wanted to use them. I thought this tag would be perfect.

I so hope you get the chance to play along this challenge with us.

Vintage Trinket Drawer Stand

Hello to all you out there visiting today! Sooooooo I have a new creation I made for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts that has me happy as a butterfly on a sunny day!

I love altering items that can be used for home decor because you can make them look like whatever you want them to.

So after I assembled this Trinket Drawer Stand, I gave it a coat or two of gesso. Then I picked a gray color to paint the whole thing and let it dry all the way! I went back over the gray with some gesso and sprayed it with water, letting it drip to give it a worn "milk paint" look.

Now I like the seeing the slots where the box connects at. If you don't like this, the best way to fix it is add some bits of tape or use some tissue paper to add texture on the stand.

I decided after I added my clay pieces I wanted it to really look old and a good way to do that is with a glazing technique. Of course you can also just add some heavy paint and wipe it off but the dry time might not be the same.

I picked Paynes Gray to mix with an acrylic glaze. I brushed the paint on and then after minute or two used a baby wipe to clean it up until I was happy with the look. You can always build up color, but may be harder to remove if you let it sit too long. NOTE: Make sure your clay is 100% dry before doing this.

I also smudged some of the Paynes Gray around corners and nooks on the stand. I just love this stand and had fun creating this look.

Thank you so much for for stopping by today!!! Have a crafty weekend!

Steampunk Heads

Happy Saturday!!!! I am here today to share my newest creation I made for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.

I had a blast playing with a new color combo for my tags and I just love the pop of my steampunk couple.

I started with the background a stencil and adding some paint. Then I just added a little more color and some stamping.

The chipboard pieces got some different shades of metal colors.

The punch elements got some of the same colors I used on the tag. I gave this some cardboard in between the layers though to add dimension.

For the second tag I did the same thing but added a different small chat sticker.

These were really fun to play with and great to explore with.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Live Everyday With Intention

Hello everyone!!!! Well I am super bummed but happy at the same time. This will be my last post for The Crafter's Workshop at this time.
I am happy I got to spend the last year creating for The Crafter's Workshop, but my time has come and you all will love the new talent that will be coming up to share their amazing ideas with you!
*The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. This post also contains affiliate links. The opinions I share are solely my own.*
So for my last piece I decided to do an art journal spread.
TCWApril26
First I started with creating the background. I laid down some paints then added the stencil TCW596 Orange Slices. I went back over the stencil with he same colors I used in the background.
TCWApril26-1
Then I went in with the stencil TCW593 Doodled Pattern with some black acrylic paint and a make up sponge.
TCWApril26-2
Next, I used the same stencil but with white acrylic paint. I also added a Tim Holtz small chat sticker.
TCWApril26-3
Next I used the fun stencil TCW604 Doodle Borders. I outlined the chunks I wanted with a pencil first and then I went in and colored it with a paint pen.
Here is the final outcome.

Hidden Drawer Book Box

Hello to all of you. Shanna here with a new project. Gina has these amazing Hidden Drawer Book Boxes in the store.  I couldn't help but alter one!

*Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.*

You can see this is a great size box. I altered the large one. There is a smaller one as well. It has a good amount of depth.

The Lattice Panel 1 got a coat of copper embossing powder, and the Flourishes got a coat of black embossing powder! The box was so easy to put together so make sure you grab one or a few to alter.
