Sorry I do not have anything to inspire your for our challenge. I had a surprising visit from my fiance because the hurricane shut down his job and he got to come out for a little visit! Downfall is now he won't make it here for the birth of his son because of all the delays and repairs he will be dealing with at the plant there in Virginia :(!!! 

I hope all of you out there are safe and well!

Instant Witch

Happy Monday. Halloween is only a couple days away. Are you ready??? We are. We have even gone to a couple trick or treat parties and some community events already. This stamp is so fun and exciting and great for anyone. Today is my day for posting over at

Great Impressions Stamps

The stamp used is Instant Witch.

I used some brand new Echo Park papers, colored the image with copics, and added some Impulsive Purple glitter. The black ribbon was just for a border and a good friend Barbara gave me the idea for the broomstick (I used black cardstock, orange twine, and part of a Capri Sun straw).

I used a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp that is so fun and for the season. Sadly it is not in the store now but you can request this stamp and it will be there for you. 

I really love these MME Halloween papers I colored the image with copics and finished the card off with some black seam binding ribbon. I really didn't want to cover up the papers with embellishments because I love them so much.

Alcohol Inks on Foil

Well today is a sad but good day. It is my last post as guest designer for 

Crop Stop

Today I have such a fun project to share with you... My first attempt at using alcohol inks on foil. Of course I use copics all the time but I gave a try at using Tim Holtz inks on some foil that I embossed with the Darice Embossing folder.

I grunged up some orange seam binding ribbon with Walnut Distress stain ink and some cheescloth. I also heat embossed some black powder on some chipboard I altered and cut out using a Tim Holtz die.

This was such a fun project and I got my fingers dirty. I cannot wait to make my next grungy something!

I colored the image with copics, used a spellbinder die to cut her out, some paper from Authentique, and then finished it off with ribbon, cheesecloth, and some pearls from a pearl pen.

Tea Bag Tutorial

Good Morning everyone. I have a tutorial for you here today that I made for

Crop Stop

   

1.     Score your 4" x 9" cardstock at 4" and 5". Fold the score lines and set to one side.

2.     Take your 7.5” x 8” cardstock and score at 0.5" and 4" on the 7.5" side. Fold the score lines. Using double-sided tape or other adhesive adhere the 0.5" strip to the other side. You end up with a pocket

3.     Score the 'pocket' at 3 3/8" and 4 3/8" and fold the score lines. 

4.     Cut out colored cardstock 4 pieces of 3 1/8” x 3 3/4” for the pockets and 2 pieces of 3 3/4” x 3 3/4”. Emboss them with embossing folder. Then adhere to the coordinating places.

5.     Using a circle punch, or circle die cut, cut out a semi circle on each end of the pocket.

6.     Apply double-sided tape or other adhesive to the spine and adhere to the inside of your cardstock.  Or use brads.

7.  Decorate the front, fill the pockets , and tie closed.

I used a Great Impression Stamp Cup of Cheer for the outside. I used half pearls but you can use a pearl pen for pearls. The flowers are some that I had on hand and used some of the distress stain on.

How is everyone doing today??? I am doing great. As you read this I will probably be sitting waiting at the doctors office for my next check up. I am definitely not going to lie, what is the point of an appointment when you have to wait an hour or 2 to be seen??? Officially I can say 5 more weeks and my little man will be here unless he decides to come early.... I would love earlier!!! I am one of those who loves to eat on Thanksgiving along with cooking for the holidays.

So my card today is using a Magnolia that was released two collections ago I believe. Is she not just great for fall weather. I am not fond of mice but I couldn't resist using some old MME papers with her. 

I was lucky my mom had a bunch of random buttons because all my buttons are back in the south. I used some new paper string from Really Reasonable Ribbon. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and so is the bottom lace. I used the top lace from some of my mother's scraps. She is a sewer. 

Sorry I don't have a close up of the image and my coloring. My editing software appears to be making its own decisions!

For those of you new to the "Out of the Box Technique" it is really simple.

Out of the box technique can be so fun. At first it was challenging when I first learned how to do it. I would say practice on an uncolored image first just to make sure you don't spend so much time making something so beautiful to chop into it and ruin it. 

I could not resist using the Trixxie Treat image for my card. I though a purple color would be a great pop against the normal colors of trick or treating.  I needed a little practice with coloring purple as I colored purple before and didn't really like it too much. I used some silver stickles on the ribbon around her waist. By the time I got the card loaded I forgot to put some glossy accents on her lips and the candy to make them pop off the image as well.
