Haunted House Special

SPECIAL ALERT!!!!SPECIAL ALERT!!!!

There is a new and HAUNTED kit over at Alpha Stamps! I must say the possibilities with this are endless. AND there is a Haunted House Swap going on too!

I got straight to playing with the goodies in my kit!

I started with some gesso because you never know what you want to paint.

Then I got this amazing idea to use some of the chipboard texture sheets to add texture. So I masked off the roof line and got to adding texture.

I used Heavy Gesso for this particular house with the Brick Wall Chipboard Texture Sheet and then Stone Wall Chipboard Texture Sheet for another.

Here you can see what it looks like after removing the sheet.

I then wanted to add color. So I pulled out some Distress Inks and rubbed it overweight a blending tool. I used Hickory Smoke and Black Soot.

I used Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany for this house.

Then I got to cutting some strips for the roof. I used a Tim Holtz edger die for this part. There are so many so you can create any style roof line.

I used chipboard to raise each piece to give it dimension.

I wanted to start on my next house using papers from the Moonlit Collection.

I also used a Haunted House Window piece that was matted with more paper from the Moonlit Collection.

Then I added some of my favorite Black Dresden to be rook lines.

Here I used chipboard again. Isn't this dimension fun?

So here are what they all look like finished.

I think this guy is getting in trouble for drinking outside of the pub! Check out the Strange People Collage Sheet for some fun characters.

Here is a another bar for the dead. The raven from The Thrifty Witch Collage Sheet, sitting watching from the roof for people to eat.

I love the kegs from The Happy Bat Tavern Set Download and the spooky pumpkin from the Scary Pumpkins Collage Sheet doorman.

And of course what else should it be titled but Poison. I used the 40x30mm Halloween Poison Cameo

Lastly, my favorite house of all! The Withes Coven. Of course seeing this picture on collage sheets made me think about The American Horror Story. I thought about their front gates of course and had to add Chipboard Gates to this house.

I gave them a plain coat of black acrylic paint and glued them on to the backside of this house panel.

I also added some Black Dresden for a roof line and had to add those faces at the top a perfect rooftop right!

I also took a sticker from the Moonlit Collection to add to the bottom of the photo to remind everyone to be on the lookout for those witches, goblins, and ghouls!

Don't forget to stop by and check out all the goodies on sale right now and check out the different kits  as well.

Could you expand a little on your use of gesso with the texture sheets? I.e., how applied; how long left to set up; how texture sheet is removed and cleaned for re-use?
Your results look great, but I'm pretty ham-handed and would hate to ruin the sheet with only one use!
Thank you.
