Wise Old Owls

Good morning and a happy Monday to you all. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was full of thunder, lightening, and rain.... cold rain!!!! I do not understand what the heck is going on with the weather, but a little steady pace of one temperature would be nice. Not this sunny and rainy back in forth banter of cold and warm.

Well today I have a short post, but just wanted to share with you a quick and simple masculine card. I do not normally make masculine cards so this was a fun change for me. I really love the colors and the owls are just too adorable. Owls I think were a real big hit last year.

I used the Wise Owl (E644) stamp and the With Age (E647) stamp.
I colored the owls with copics and used my Spellbinder Oval Die, and distressed the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink . I used some My Mind's Eye paper with some chocolate colored cardstock I have. I also used some cream cardstock to stamp the With Age sentiment stamp in Memento black ink and distressed the edges with Walnut Stain distress ink. I cut it like a banner and finished the card off with some jute string and a button.

Are you all ready for some GREAT IMPRESSION'S challenges???
We are working behind the scenes to hopefully have it up as soon once the store is up and running. Unfortunately, bad weather is has the owner's playing it safe right now. Hopefully they are doing okay as there have been power outages all over due to the bad snow storms.

Hopefully you all love my card. Please stop by GREAT IMPRESSION'S tomorrow to see what new project awaits to inspire you!

Paper Piecing

Hey everyone. Good morning.
Quick reminder today is the last day for my candy and Tuesday is the last day to enter my other candy.
Well I have had a hefty weekend full of not what I needed, but I did what I had to do to get things done a little bit. I got the house clean, some bills paid, ordered some stamps, colored, celebrated a birthday, got stormed on, and got onto a store team for All That Scraps!
It's a busy weekend right, and it's not even over yet! I still have to go grocery shopping (produce shopping), get dog food, and a new tag for our newest puppy! I'll put pictures up of my fur babies.

So onto today's challenge!!!!

has a theme this week of

"Paper Piecing"

Our sponsor is this week is

I used the image Pure Innocence 019. I thought this would be a great stamp for my first try at paper piecing. Well cutting out her fingers and trying not to rip the heart was harder than I thought. Then I put the paper in the printer wrong as you see love is sideways instead of right side up!

I colored the image with copics and used my MS border punch. The papers are from My Mind's Eye Love Me  paper pad. I tried a little shading on the cut out heart. I used a vellum sentiment and embellished it with a rhinestone heart.

I really hope you get over to the Paper Sundaes blog and see what the rest of the team has created!

Welcome

Good evening everyone. Are you ready for the weekend. I am not I have a birthday party to go to tomorrow and I am not feeling the long drive there at all especially if it is going to be raining.  Well the new challenge is over at

our theme this week is

Welcome
(Welcome home, Welcome baby, Welcome to your new job, etc.)

We have a new sponsor this year

I used the new Celebration Tilda. Unfortunately All That Scraps
is out of stock but you can stop by and check out the rest of the Magnolias as well as the spellbinder circles dies I used. I also used My Mind's Eye Love Me paper pad. It was so hard for me to want to cut these papers up. Of course I colored my image with copics, which can also be purchased at All That Scraps. I used a MS border punch, added some heart rhinestones, some jute string and ribbon from RRR, and some Walnut Stain distress ink (On sale here) on the edges of the circles.

I loved coloring her. I am nor good with coloring with the RV shades yet. I did not like the color so I went over them with some of the R's and W's.

My sentiment was hand typed and punched out with a SU punch.

If you get a chance to stop in a check out the store please do. Tons of stuff on clearance and on sale.

Colour Create  is having a new challenge with the color scheme of

Pink, green, and neutral with the option of handmade flowers

Our sponsor for this challenge is

I used a new image just released not too long ago. I totally love her. She was really fun to color. I think I want to do one in white with some pink wings or red with sparkly fluff on the wings... Hmmm I should have added that to this card.  I followed along with the The Sweet Stop Sketch for this card. I really thought I needed to keep it CAS for all the cards you all have to look at today :)
Now for the handmade flowers... errr rolling flowers is not my forte and lol I need a day with a whole lot of them punched out so I can practice.

If you get a chance to stop by and see what the team has created we have a lot of variety for you to choose from for some inspiration. Hope you can play along.

Our next challenge for today is

a little WHITE on WHITE challenge

with THREE sponsors for this challenge

For this challenge I used a Meljen image that was free... they have freebies so go grab some!
I used plain white cardstock and embossed it, threw on some white ribbon, and some white sticker letters that I had laying around in a box.

Many think white on white is hard... I definitely don't feel comfortable doing it but come try it out with us and check out what the rest of the team created.

Lastly

Also Dutch Dare is having a sketch challenge stop by and play

Also don't forget there is a blog hop down below for Sparkle n Sprinkle!

Also Stop and Scrap had tons of pre-orders...sadly I didn't get some before they were already out of stock on a pre-order (crying...tears...more sobbing)

"Embossing"

and as always we have a sketch for you to play with as well!

The papers I used are from the newest Lily Bee Designs paper pad. I also used an embossing folder on some pearl paper. The flowers I sprayed with some TAM and then I added stickles to the center of them.

It is a little hard to see but I stamped you are special in the corner. It was a cheap cheap stamp I got a Michael's.

If you can come along and play with us and remember you can use any image you have.

Seeing Red

Hello and Good Morning.  We have a new challenge over with the

 our theme this challenge is

"Seeing Red"

our sponsor for this challenge is

Well for this challenge I decided to use a fabulous stamp from Sparkle N Sprinkle. They will be having a wonderful Blog Hop with the theme Deco Divas Romance is in the Air.

So for my card I decided to use Trois Visages. I colored them with copics and stamped more to cut out pieces of them to do pop outs. I just wanted something really simple to show you but a good clean CAS card. Unfortunately, I could not find a sentiment in my stash to apply to the image that stood out to me. I also used a lot of glitter. Mainly Rosy Red and I added a little bit of Champagne in there as well. I used some red ribbon from RRR and I have a desk covered with Valentine's paper pads so right now off the op of my head I could not tell you who the red polka dot paper was from!

Here is a better view of the pop dots.

Hope you have time over the next two weeks to play with us.

Starting My Week Off Right

Good morning and happy Monday to everyone. I had one hectic weekend. My Friday started with a migraine and my two year old kicked into full terrible two mode. Her aunt and cousin came to stay with us Friday night as well. Little Miss A was horrible in gymnastics and got in trouble with her teacher a few times... I must admit it was funny watching her make the teacher chase her around the balance beam. As a stern mom I went out and had to use the threat "If you are not a good girl and listen to your teacher NO MORE GYMNASTICS". Needless to say she finished class, got her stamp on the hand, and passed out in the truck on the way home. There are only two things that can make me happy within seconds..... ICE CREAM (preferably Cold Stone) and shoes. I am a shoe-aholic! I think having kids is a great why to stop buying them cold turkey! Well I turned to Reebok Run Tones and Walk Tones.... even a more expensive choice than my average heel cost. I love shoes. I could wear heels anywhere...even to the grocery store. I am even planning on having our bathroom remodeled (maybe next year or the year after) to include  shelving for my shoes. Taking out our tiny tiny shower will be a very big improvement.

When I saw this stamp for the January Stamp of the Month Program I had to have it. Is this not a beautiful shoe? I would I love heels that tie and I have never had embellishments on my heels but a nice fabric similar to like an Asian print style but roses in a shiny satin mmm black with bright red... I should start making shoes lol. My fiance would put his foot down with that. I have enough hobbies between cooking, baking, cross stitching, and now cards or paper crafts!

I really hope you enjoy this card. It was a quick simple make. The papers are just black and dark red cardstock. The design paper is My Mind's Eye - Union Square. I colored the Rose Shoe (F516) with copics   and once again used the stamp Je t'aime (A137). I used some pearls in all assorted sizes and some lace from Really Reasonable ribbon.

Make sure you stop by every day to see something new over at

1. comment on each blog
2. Collect each secret phrase and
3. Leave the secret sentence in the hop post at Paper Sundaes.

So for this fun birthday hop that will knock your SOCKS off for wonderful prizes... I used my new Tilda with a Balloon. I just got in my newest Magnolias from Michelle's Scrap Store. I am so thrilled to be a part of this hop that I will be giving out additional candy to the one I am already giving out details will be at the bottom of the post.
Anywhoot..I had a somewhat productive weekend...my house is clean I got a little organized... I forgot to make my new special meal plan but I have been doing my food journaling...I wish I could just hire a private chef to fix my lunches and dinners while I kick my feet up wearing cozy SOCKS. I know that sounds lazy but eating healthy sometimes gets hard and being creative with food is not my forte as I grew up in a home with southern food (might be why I am almost a diabetic) sugar sugar sugar has always been my downfall, and I am right along side Paula Deen with using butter well about half of what she uses!

For my card I tried to follow several challenges to create this one. In fact the first time I colored her I hated it and the second time well I was a little more pleased as I knocked my own SOCKS off.

First attempt

Second attempt I switched up my pinks too

I wanted you to the sparkly in the sentiment Birthday Wishes from The Great Impressions Stamps and the embossing powder is from Sparkle n Sprinkle called Winter Berry.

I used ribbon and twine from Really Reasonable Ribbon and rhinestones I picked up at a craft store.

My papers are from... I want to say Echo Park the newest collection yummy stuff in that paper pad.

In case you get lost through the hop this is how it goes

You should go back to

and post your secret phrase now!

Did you guess my secret word... it is in blue and they go on your feet or if your like my daughter on your hands!

Oh I almost forgot I have a candy giveaway here

and will be doing another as I just hit 100 followers!

I have a pack of Wild Orchid Craft flowers
Wild Roses that are pink and white and pink and purple!

Just leave me a comment saying you wish to enter and be a follower. I would also love if you could share this with your friends. Thanks and check back Monday I will have a new post up!

Be A Star

Good evening everyone just wanted to stop in and let you all know we have a new challenge over at

Totally Gorjuss

Our theme this week is

"Be a Star"

Our sponsor is

Crafters Companion

This is a fun challenge as I have no clue what to do about stars besides rockstars and stars like a star.  I used a Crafter's Companion dog. I cannot find the stamp but I k now they make him!

I just cut two stars out of cardstock and used a star stamp I got from Susana. I got some gold star trim from RRR and colored this cute puppy with copics!

Hope you have time to play along with our theme!
