For the Boys

Sorry I am running behind. My fiance had an emergency call this morning that threw off my whole day and I was so tired last night I didn't get this pre-typed.

Well I made it on the Dutch Dare team. I have been here for a little bit but with the holidays and getting things under control it was a bit of a challenge to just jump right in.

Our theme this week is

"For the Boys"

Winner gets 3 digis of their choice

I used Summertime Baseball Boy. I thought this was a good one for me to challenge me coloring him dirty. I really think I need some practice. I am hoping to take a few coloring classes soon. I just have to save for it but I might wait because all the new releases about to come out..... OOOO I cannot wait!

I used some MME paper from my 12x12 stash so at the moment I do not remember the name as I put my scraps up. I do know that I used pumpkin pie and chocolate chip SU cardstock. I really need to order more as the paper I have bought is not thick enough anymore for some of the projects I am working on.

If you get a chance stop by and check out what the rest of the team created.

My Faux Stitching

Good morning....Afternoon...Evening.....

We have a new challenge over at

the theme is

"Stitching"

As always we have sketch for you to play along with if you don't want to play the theme

Remember you can use the sketch or theme or both.

I decided for my stitching yo use the image Plush Couch. I thought this to be perfect for our stitching theme. Unfortunately, I do not have a sewing machine. I have a little handheld something or another that barely works at times and is battery operated. So I just drew my stitches with a white pen. I really am feeling darker tones of Valentines right now. I don't know why considering I am ready for summer and bright colors.

I hope you get a chance to play with us. I always love seeing everyones different ideas of stitching. Hand stitching well your just plain outright crazy or have a little more time on your hands. I can't really have too many needles out around my little one... if I did I guess I would have more of my cross stitches done.

I colored the image with copics and pencils. I really like how I colored the floor but coloring furniture was a new on for me. My sentiment is from LOTV, and my buttons are my stash. The papers are Recollections (A cheaper version of MME).

If you get a chance to play please do and stop by to see what else the team has created.

also.....

I have a New Year candy to give out.

All you have to do is
  • I would love for you to share this with all your followers and friends but you do not have to post this on your side bar if you do not want to.

The candy is a Pixie Cottage image called

Simply the Best

It is an unmounted stamp in deep etched red rubber and measures about 3.75"x3.25"

The winner will be announced on January 25th.

Bookmark Me!

Good morning everyone. I hope everyone's having a great start for the new year. The first week is already over. Seeing all the post this last week was so much fun. I really hope you enjoyed seeing different creations daily. I am so excited to be working with a bunch of talented creators. I tell you this week we have some good stuff coming up so come back each day and check out some of our creations.

I decided to do something different this week and make a bookmark. I really need a bookmark for my notebook that keeps me organized with all my design teams and commissions. So I did something very clean and simple (CAS).

I used an Ink Essentials Manilla tag and covered it with crumbled up tissue paper for texture. Once that dried a little I went ahead and used a Tim Holtz stamp and embossed it with Sparkle n Sprinkle's clear embossing powder. I then used distress inks tumbled glass and worn lipstick to get the colors I got. I really loved the  Romantic Postage (F425) so I used this stamp with Sparkle n Sprinkle's gold detail powder (My favorite powder so far). I then stamped Je t'aime (A137) all over with Memento's tuxedo black ink and finished it off with some jute string at the top. It was so quick and easy to make. I think you might spend more time waiting for it to dry if you are an air dryer (I used my heat gun). I really love this stamp so you may see it on a few upcoming projects!

This was a real easy bookmark to make. we would love to see your creations using some Great Impression Stamps. The store will hopefully be opening up February 1st. They are working hard to get it all put together.  Also, the January stamp of the month program should be coming put to stores shortly!

Make sure to come back tomorrow. Jenny has something yummy planned for you tomorrow.

Who doesn't love Krista Smith's images. I love love love these little cuties. I have a little collection of them but I need to start getting some of her new ones. They are so cute and really fun to practice intense coloring on.

I colored my little miss "Thank You" with copics. I did not include pencils this time. I kind of wish I would have to really intensify the colors. Anywoot... My papers are My Mind's Eye and SU. I used Prima flowers along with Wild Orchid flowers. My ribbon is from RRR and I could not resist adding some bling.

A New Sketch

Good evening. I hope everyone is as excited as I am for this new year. There is alot I'm happy for and hope to do this year. My health is increasingly getting better. The design teams I am on are above and beyond amazing. I am extremely blessed with the chances I am being given. I plan on expanding from cards and starting mini albums and other 3d projects very very soon. I will be taking some classes hopefully soon to improve some of my abilities as well.

So with all of that talk we have a new challenge over at

Totally Gorjuss

Our theme this week is a sketch which I am having troubles loading at the moment so stop by our challenge to check it out.

Our sponsor is

So for this challenge I used Tilda from the Sweet Crazy Love collection. I really love this image. The flowers are fun and so are the little pollen dots.

I added liquid pearls to a lot of those pollen dots and to her bows. I colored my image with copics and pencils. I am hoping to take a copics class soon so I can work on my coloring. I am hoping to be certified before the end of the year but I am not sure that will work to my accord this year unless there is one somewhere close by and while my daughter's father is home.

I used some Wild Orchid flowers and I also used some RRR ribbon. My inside flower is Prima and the inside stamps are from SU. My papers are from My Minds Eye...but I cannot find the pad right now so I am a little clueless as to where it is. My desk is such a mess because I am in the middle of a few projects for this upcoming weekend and next week.

I really hope you have a chance to come play with us as we have some wonderful takes on this sketch this week.

New Color Combo

Good Morning sorry I am typing this quickly as I am running out the door to the gym I love my spin class. For those who don't know spin it is bicycle endurance training and great cardio for those who cannot run!

We have a new challenge over at

Our theme is

"Red, Cream, Sage, and the option of buttons"

Here is a photo for inspiration

I decided to to something extremely CAS and used a retired SU set I got on sale a while back

I used pop dots and cut the centers out to give the card a bit more dimension.

I think I like the front shot better.

If you have a chance stop by and see what the team has created as they have some amazing ideas to show you for this color combo!

Also don't forget to check out the new design team over at The Great Impressions we will have a new post for you almost daily.

Mono 102

Good morning....Afternoon...Evening.....

We have a new challenge over at

the theme is

"Monochromatic"

As always we have a sketch for you to play along with as well
This is the sketch should you choose the card option.

Remember you can use the sketch or the optional technique.
The randomly picked winner will win two stamps of their choice from the Pixie Cottage Collection. The winner will be announced on the Friday after the challenge ends.

This challenge I decided to make a bag.  I saw this creation over at I can never get this blog right :( Stempeleinmaliens. It was a great little project. Quick and fun.

We have a monochromatic theme this week and as I am a coffee fan mmm coffee. I haven't had any in quite some time. In fact hot cocoa is what I have recently had. Soon coffee soon.

I used The Pixie Cottage digi image The Cafe. For those who do not know, there are digis and rubber stamps. There are tons of both to choose from. I thought this was a wonderful image to use for the the theme. Plus I am just missing my coffee.

Someone like me would appreciate a some Starbucks coffee or maybe some tea. The papers are are from DCWV, the ribbon is from MS and so is the border punch. I distressed everything and also distressed the edges with Walnut Stain. I used copics and pencils for coloring this go around.

If you have a chance stop by and check out what the rest of the team created!

Snow Day

Good morning everyone. Quite a bit of news today. I really hope everyone had a chance to check out the new Great Impressions blog as we will be having a new post for you almost daily!

We have a new challenge over at

the theme for this challenge is

"Snow Day"

I really love this card. The layout was amazing, the papers with perfect, and I really loved this stamp.  She is so easy to color and could be colored in so many different colors.

I used another Amy R sentiment. I used a MS border punch, I also used some snowflake brads, snow tex, some lace from RRR, also weathered wood DI.

I am so looking forward to coloring my new maggies. Sparkle n Sprinkle has some new stamps coming out as well. I am so excited as they will be summer themed. I am a summer baby and ex beach bum. I went from living 30 minutes to the beach to now 3 hours to the beach. But I have a few trinkets from over the years that I keep around. I cannot wait until well as a stay at home mom I cannot say retire but spend the end of my days living by the beach again!

If you get a chance stop by to see what else the team has created!

First Post

Happy New Year!!!! Can you believe it... it is already 2012.
Well everyone I am soooooooo pleased to be making my first post as a design team member for Great Impressions Stamps. These stamps are amazing and when I saw how many there were I went crazy picking them out.

Great Impressions has such a variety and stamps that can work with anyone's budget, and guess what..... they come with your choice of wood mounted or cling mounted (STICKABLES) for acrylic blocks.
Who doesn't love more room for more stamps???

For my very first card, I thought I would make something bright and different. As we all have just finished up Christmas and Happy Holiday cards, I needed a drastic change . If you are anything like me I was done with Christmas the day after and got almost all the decorations put up last Monday.
I am ready for BRIGHT, SPRINGY, and SUMMERY cards and that is what I brought to you all today!

I used A School of Fish (E649) and Just Floating (E648) to create my bright summery card. I used some plain white, light blue, and hot pink cardstock. I also used a sheet of paper from Fancy Pants: Beach Babe paper pad. I thought the paper complimented the stamps perfectly.

I also used some lime green baker's twine and a dew drop to make it look like a hanging pitcure. I did my sentiment (Just Floating) in  Sparkle n Sprinkle white detail embossing powder, added some glossy accents to the bubbles, used clear microbeads for inside the shaker, some saved acetate from packages, SP dies large scalloped circle and classic circle, foam tape,  and I colored my image with distress inks spiced marmalade and broken china.

Out With the Old

Good Morning and

HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR

I have two challenges posting today so please scroll on down to see the other one!

We have a new challenge over at

the theme is

"OUT with the OLD and IN with the NEW"

Okay it is 1 am as I write this so please forgive me if it is short.  I used some old cardstock and a new paper pad, a new maggie, and old flower and some new glimmer mist. I love the new Basic Grey paper pad I got. I got a ton of new goodies to play and of course I wish I had pre-ordered some copics but oh well I will get them at the new high price. I have been hearing rumors that there are several more companies coming out with alcohol inks though at a cheaper price. I love my copics though. I have almost every color too. I need to start working on getting my refills. I think they need to open up a place in the US so we don't have to worry about the currency value anymore. The cheaper the markers the more people will buy them but apparently raising the price several times in less than a year they don't really care.

Anyhoot I love this card. I cannot wait to get started on my cards for the new year. I have my new desk installed and tons of new storage. Now I just have to organize everything and get it put up how I want as that is hard to do with a little one who like to get into everything. My fiance is home for two weeks so I am hoping to get maybe 3 cards a day done. I need to catch up on my commenting to so my apologies to those I have yet to visit and comment on. I visit about 100 blogs a day if not more so sometimes leaving comments is really tough but I always look and read though those I follow and I follow quite a bit.

I used a SU punch and stamp, Basic Grey Picadilly pad, some TA glimmer mist and glam glaze, copics, pearl pen, cheesecloth, and DI for my edges.

I hope everyone had a safe night and once again Happy New Year

If you have time try to stop by and see what the rest of the team made. I must say there are some jaw dropping beautiful creations!

Sketch Saturday

G is for Green

We have a new challenge over at

Our theme for the first day of the new year is

"G is for Go Green"

You can use the color green or do some recycling

We also have 2 wonderful sponsors for this challenge

So for my challenge I decide to do both. I won a challenge not too long ago and won some fun digis and I thought this one was perfect to use since I have to be careful as I am borderline at being a type 2 diabetic. I tell ya I am ready to have a better year for my health. So I used an image that has chocolate. My printer broke right after I printed this so I was not able to print the sentiment out in time. I wanted her hair to look gray not black just in case anyone is thinking her black hair is not so black.

I used both the color green and I recycled. I used a MFT die on a coffee collar from one of my many Starbucks cups. MMMM Starbucks for me today later I think yes! I will be having a early lunch dinner of black-eyed peas and collard greens... I hope they taste good. I come from a family of real southern cooking so it shall be interesting considering I am not big on eating the food my fiances family fixes... I am a fresh kind of girl and rarely eat from boxes. I eat cereal from a box and that is about it. Pancakes are made from scratch... biscuits I have several recipes for as my fiance loved biscuits and gravy. I like a light breakfast like yogurt and fruit, a smoothie, or maybe tea and toast. I love oatmeal with dried fruit mmmm Starbucks oatmeal is delicious just not worth $3. McDonalds is good to but I am not sure it is 100% healthy.

Well back to my card. She is colored in copics and I used some scrap seam binding ribbon, and I recycled my coffee collar for the scallop border. I painted it with picket fence crackle paint to add more to the card.

I do not have any challenges to enter it into ad most challenges are on break still. I did use a sketch from

Papertake Weekly Sketch

If you get a chance stop by and see what other awesome creations the team made!
